WHO TO OBTAIN RUSSIAN CITIZENSHIP?

They will refuse to provide citizenship under article 16 of the Federal Law if a person:

• is favorable for a forced change of the fundamentals of the constitutional system of the Russian Federation or by other actions which pose a threat to the security of the Russian Federation;

• participates either in international, interethnic, interterritorial or other armed conflicts, or in the course of such conflicts, actions directed against the Russian contingent of peacekeeping forces and interfering with the performance of their peacekeeping functions or directed against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, or in the commission of terrorist acts carrying out extremist activities or in preparing the commission of such acts, in carrying out such activities outside of Russian Federation in relation to citizens of the Russian Federation, representative offices of the Russian Federation in foreign countries and international organizations, representative offices of constituent entities of the Russian Federation and their employees;

• participate either in the commission or preparation for the commission of unlawful actions containing at least one of the signs of extremist activity, for which the legislation of the Russian Federation provides criminal, administrative or civil liability, or other actions that threaten the security of the Russian Federation or citizens of the Russian Federation;

• have restrictions on entry into the Russian Federation due to the fact that they were subject to administrative expulsion from the Russian Federation, deportation or were transferred by the Russian Federation to a foreign state in accordance with the international readmission agreements of the Russian Federation, or due to the undesirability decision stay (residence) in the Russian Federation (before the expiration of the established time limits for entry into the Russian Federation);

• used for the submission of an application false documents or reported knowingly false information;

• they arein in military service, service in security or law enforcement bodies of a foreign state, unless otherwise provided by an international treaty of the Russian Federation;

• have a conviction that has not been cancelled or outstanding for the commission of premeditated crimes in the territory of the Russian Federation or outside its borders, recognized as such in accordance with the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation;

• prosecuted by the competent authorities of the Russian Federation or by the competent authorities of foreign countries for crimes recognized as such in accordance with the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (until the court pronounces or decides on the case);

• convicted and serving a sentence of imprisonment for acts pursued in accordance with the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (before the expiration of the sentence).
